New Year 2018

Yesterday, Brandon and I celebrated the new year. Well more like the new year celebrated us because we definitely were not celebrating it. For the past five years, I have found myself to be hungover on the first day of the new year. This was eye opening due to the fact that I took three naps, ate Burger King, watched Silent Hill and Act of Valor, and even slept in until 9:00 a.m. THIS WAS THE FIRST DAY OF 2018. As I reflected on how I could have spent it: going to the coffee shop, enjoying my fiancé's company while we both cook a healthy and mindful dinner together.

It is not something that I wish to repeat. For 2019, I hope to establish myself and to be comfortable spending the new year as #SoberSamantha not #SourSamantha. I could have been getting a head start of life that day. Although, it is just the new year, there is a certain type of clean slate that comes with the new year. You can be anything you want to be for this is a new year and after all #NewYearNewMe right? But that is still another year away so lets focus on what is right in front of us -- 2018.

The ambition I have for 2018 is so tremendous that I hope I am not putting it on a pedestal. Everyone's new years resolution is always the same: TO LOSE 20 POUNDS. This year, I refuse to be apart of that 87% of people. Although it was not off to a very good start with eating Burger King on the first day of the new year...there is always tomorrow.

By tomorrow, I mean today.
Food List:
-pancake and sausage (1.5)
-chicken noodle soup
-oreo cookie (1)
-tacos (2)

It may have not been the best but tomorrow will be better.
I hope to obtain the motivation to stay aware of what I eat and what I drink because of what it is doing to my body. It may be fine for now but I am not getting any younger. Hopefully soon, Brandon and I will start popping out kids and with that comes responsibility and to be a good role model. If I start making healthy decisions now, it will therefore be easier in the future to make these decisions.
