New Year 2018

Yesterday, Brandon and I celebrated the new year. Well more like the new year celebrated us because we definitely were not celebrating it. For the past five years, I have found myself to be hungover on the first day of the new year. This was eye opening due to the fact that I took three naps, ate Burger King, watched Silent Hill and Act of Valor, and even slept in until 9:00 a.m. THIS WAS THE FIRST DAY OF 2018. As I reflected on how I could have spent it: going to the coffee shop, enjoying my fiancé's company while we both cook a healthy and mindful dinner together. It is not something that I wish to repeat. For 2019, I hope to establish myself and to be comfortable spending the new year as #SoberSamantha not #SourSamantha. I could have been getting a head start of life that day. Although, it is just the new year, there is a certain type of clean slate that comes with the new year. What is the point?

Listening to music with headphones on versus listening to the music out load on speakers. Do you think of the power of the music, the message? Do you think of a past memory that goes with the song? Do you think of both? There is always the music video if there isn't a memory or deeper thought of meaning... When listening to music with headphones, you are forced to listen to nothing else but the music and the words. Some songs make you happy or sad or other emotions Why do some songs make you sad?
